What are the new guidelines of ICC for cricket?

The International Cricket Council has issued new guidelines for the resumption of cricket as governments of most countries have relaxed their rules.

The guidelines are:

1,The player will follow the government's direction before returning to the game. It has recommended the appointment of a Chief Medical Officer to ensure this.

2,Temperatures will be checked at least 14 days prior to travel. And coronavirus will be tested.

3,Sufficient testing instruments will be ready during practice and matches.

4,Each country's cricket board will later create workplaces for players with an agent from the ICC. Which will determine the risk of the playground and training space.

5,There will be a distance of 1.5 meters between the players and the players will monitor the equipment at their respective responsibilities. And have instruments to snatch their equipment.

6,The ICC wants players to be always ready for training and not to use common facilities like dressing room.

7,With reference to match situation, the necessity for medical resources at every venue, the appointment of on-call doctors and sufficient medical support need to be considered.

8,The ICC believes that the cricket ball is one of the means of spreading the infection, so the ICC has given clear instructions to the players to use the ball. These are:

a.Regular hand sanitizer should be done while contacting the ball,

b.Players to not touch their eyes, nose and mouth after making contact with the ball 

c. The umpires to consider wearing gloves when handling the ball.

d.They are considering using saliva to brighten the ball.

9, The ICC has discouraged the sharing of cricket equipment.

10, Practice in small groups(off less than three palyers) while following the rules of social distance.

Guidelines for bowlers 


Considering they run the highest risk of getting injured if proper care isn't taken in their return from a lengthy period of inactivity, specific guidelines for bowlers are involved . The guidelines are:

1,The ICC has advised the board to train five bowlers a week

2, Bowling should be involved in the intensity of the match in the last three weeks to facilitate the return to the T20.

3,For ODIs, the minimum preparation period is of 6 weeks, and a similar phase of match intensity practice [3 weeks]. For Tests, the preparation period is two to three months (8 to 12 weeks), with the last 4-5 weeks involving bowling at full tilt.

There will be no isolation and no celebration in the game for everyone



The ICC has previously discouraged players from celebrating because they could come into contact with each other.

The board has also said that if any player during a match shows symptoms of Covid-19, then every participant of that game would require tests and a period in isolation as they would've been in close proximity with the affected player, and will have contracted the virus.
