The way the ICC selects the best cricketer of the month

Mushfiqur is on the shortlist of the best cricketers of May.

Mushfiqur Rahim has become the first Bangladeshi player to be shortlisted for the ICC Cricket Team of the Year. Mushfiqur's rivals in the May Cricket World Cup are Hasan Ali of Pakistan and Praveen Jayabikrama of Sri Lanka.

The ICC also selects one woman cricketer from the shortlist of three each month. Scotland all-rounder Katherine Bridge, Ireland's Gabby Lewis and Leah Paul are on the shortlist for women cricketers.

The ICCE makes a short list of each month based on performance. From that list, the ICC's Independent Voting Academy and cricket fans select the best two of the two divisitions

Former cricketers from cricketing nations, experienced journalists, commentators and some cricketers who have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame are at the ICC Voting Academy There are also two member countries. The voting of the members of the voting academy is more important in the selection of players. Members voted by e-mail.

90 percent of the final vote count is taken from the voting academy. The remaining 10 percent comes from supporters' online votes. Let's give a little example. Suppose a player gets 13 or 50 percent of the 26 members of the voting academy. The player got 25 percent of the votes in the online votes of the supporters. In the end, the player's vote will be 48.5 percent (50 * 90% + 25 * 10%).

Suppose again that one got 25 percent of the voting academy and 85 percent of the supporters. In the end, his vote will be 30 percent. The name of the best player of the month is announced on the second Monday of every month.

The best cricketers can be voted at ICC CRICKET AWARD

There are also two selectors from Bangladesh in the ICC Voting Academy. Both are sports journalists. Cricketers like VVS Laxman, John Wright, Ramiz Raja, Makhaya Ntini, Russell Arnold, Ian Bishop are also in the voting academy.
