Stuard board gets fined from his father in the field

England fast bowler Stuart Broad has been punished for violating the ICC's Code of Conduct for misconduct. He broke Section 2.5 during the first Test of the series against Pakistan at Old Trafford, stating that "showing any language, demeanor or gesture to a cricketer, support staff in an international match, which could lead to an offensive response."

Broad received a demerit point, with a penalty of 15 percent of the match fee as punishment. Interestingly, Broad was punished by match referee Chris Broad, who is the father of Stuart Broad. There was no need for a formal hearing as he pleaded guilty. Earlier, on-field umpires Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth, along with TV umpire Michael Goff and fourth umpire Steve O'Shaughnessy, brought the allegations against Broad.

The ICC has allowed local officials to replace neutral match officials in the new playing conditions due to the Covid-19, which has resulted in Chris Broad acting as match referee with local umpires in the England series. Broad used inappropriate language after dismissing Pakistan's Yasir Shah during the Old Trafford Test, which falls into Level One level offense. The maximum penalty for this offense is reprimand, 50 per cent fine for match fee and two demerit points.

Broad will be banned for a Test match, or two ODI or T20 matches, if they get a demerit point, whichever format precedes it. Earlier, Broad received demerit points in the fourth Test at the Wanderers on the last tour of South Africa. His previous offense was in 2016 against India at Trentbridge.

England finally got a thrilling win against Pakistan at Old Trafford. However, after that Test, they heard the news of Ben Stokes losing in this series. The all-rounder has removed himself from the rest of the series to go to New Zealand for family reasons. Meanwhile, batsman Dan Lawrence has removed himself from the 'bio-secure' zone in the event of a family death. As a result, there is no possibility of making a debut in the second Test and this reserve batsman in the England squad.
