Mohammedan captain Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for three matches and fined Tk 5 lakh for breaking the discipline and kicking the umpire against Abahani in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
Shakib received the notice of punishment sent by match referee Morshedul Alam on Saturday afternoon . In the letter, the match referee accused Shakib of violating the level-3 code of conduct. |

It is learned that Shakib confessed to the crime and signed the letter. There will be no further hearing on the matter as there is no objection to the punishment. Kazi Inam Ahmed, chairman of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) and director of the BCB, told media on Saturday evening that the final decision on the match rested with the umpire and the match referee. Action has been taken accordingly.
According to the rules, for the first time, misconduct of level-3 level is punishable by expulsion from at least 1 match to a maximum of 2 matches and a fine of at least Tk 25,000.
