In IPL the price of a 10 second tv advertisement is 10 lakh rupees

Star Sports will take full advantage of the IPL through TV advertisements

Everyone knows the reason for trying to organize the Indian Premier League with so much trouble. The most money-making jingle in the world of cricket is heard in this franchise league. After all, the Indian Cricket Board, all the world's star cricketers, sponsoring organizations and television channels were waiting for the news of the start of the IPL. A small piece of information again explained why everyone was sitting like a crow for the tournament. TV channel Star Sports will charge Rs 10 lakh for showing advertisements every 10 seconds during IPL match broadcasts!

This year's IPL is starting on September 19. Due to coronavirus, there is no opportunity to go to the field and watch the game. The tournament is being held in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, if the situation improves, the spectators will not have the opportunity to enter the field later. This time, everyone relies on the TV screen to watch the game. The value of the IPL has already risen to another height around the world. And the chances of watching international cricket have dropped so much this year that the number of spectators in the IPL is expected to break an all-time record. Lockdown is still going on in some places in India. Everyone thinks that busy people at other times will pay more attention to TV this time.

Star Sports, the official sponsor of the IPL, wants to take that opportunity and arrange for maximum income. Last season, Star Sports earned Rs 3,000 crore from advertisements in the IPL. Star Sports is not cutting advertising rates as most businesses are losing revenue due to the coronavirus. Because, their idea is that in an interesting competition like IPL, all the big organizations will want to turn around with advertisements.

Star Sports has bought the broadcasting rights for Rs 3,260 crore. The BCCI did not reduce Corona's money this time either. That is why the channel is not willing to give any discount on the advertisement price. According to Rediff, the channel will charge Rs 8-10 lakh for every 10 second slot. The channel charged Rs 25 lakh per 10 seconds for the India-Pakistan match in the World Cup. Star Sports earned 17 to 18 lakh rupees for the other match of the World Cup.

This time the company has planned to make a good income from IPL. Last year, the IPL was viewed 424 million times on TV. IPL has also been viewed 300 million times on online streaming channels.
